The little flower down the corner of the street
Opens its eyes wide every morning
Hoping to see the small child
Who said it is the most beautiful
he has ever seen till then.

A word appreciated, made its day
Made it an inspiration to wake up again
every day. Whether it would come true or not
Is not even a question it has in sleep

Tired of waiting
Still, the happiness it saw
Once in its lifetime swayed
Like a scent of its bloom
Stays as the dream

It yearns to see the kid
One more time before
it melts away into the earth
and in the waiting, unknowingly,
It’s eyes grew wider and heart grew fonder
All the more, more noticeable to others
Bumblebees pecked and butterflies tickled its
Cheeks and made it smile
Yet another time, its eyes opened far and wide.
