niranjan's first bed time story

Hippo always looked at himself in the water.. It could only see its cute round nose, but it always hid the rest of him. His eyes were tiny and he strained to see behind him.. He kept thinking how he can check himself fully. He called up his dear friend Horsey Nosey and told him his concerns. Horsey was wondering if he can lift his legs and neigh like him in the water. They came to a clear water lake called the Crystal and decided to check it. Horsey asked him to show its back in water.. it could see its tiny tail and a huge belly. It asked him to turn back and look at the water.. and the poor hippo saw the horses golden tail and a fawn back. It wondered if Crysal would lie to him..as long as Crystal doesnt speak it will not lie. So both looked happy and went on their ways. But Hippo was not very happy!
Hippo called up Horsey the next day and asked how its tail could be golden even if he jumps into the clay pond. Horsey said it was never golden..then how can he say it was golden before?! Poor Hippo couldnt digest it.. then it realized it is Horsey's tail it saw in Crystal and not his own! Poor Hippo cried all night and got big bulging red eyes. It went back to Crystal and checked it again the next morning.. now that his eyes were big and bulging, it could see the tiny tail and his bark brown skin! Hippo was happy it matched his black nose and bark brown legs and went back to play in the clay pond again! :)

PS: When Niranjan learns to listen to stories, Deepa will take my Horsey and Hippo and tell him this story :P
